LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

It is my pleasure to thank our 800+ members for your continued support of MOPERM during the past 25 years. That’s right; MOPERM is celebrating 25 years of service to Missouri public entities as the stable and affordable alternative for liability and property coverage. From a humble beginning in 1987, MOPERM has grown in membership, services and experience. We are most proud of the fact that 103 of the original members who joined the fund in 1987 are still with us today. These public entity members and over 700 more are committed to the Shared-Risk concept. The Board of Trustees and staff appreciate the trust you have placed in us.

As we celebrate our 25th year, I am pleased to announce that because of MOPERM’s strong financial position, the Board of Trustees have approved a $1.2 million refund to members who renew their coverage in policy year 2012!

Several years ago, the acronym “CARE” was used at a members’ meeting to sum up the objectives of every MOPERM staffer. Then—Now—and Going Forward, MOPERM management and staff remain committed to these objectives:

Communication—between public entity officials and MOPERM is the primary way insurance challenges and issues can be understood and resolved to the satisfaction of all.

Attitude of Ownership — creation of MOPERM allows Missouri public entities to have control of their own insurance needs.
Your public entity is the sole reason MOPERM exists.

Risk Management—MOPERM is committed to offering total risk management services to members.

Education—MOPERM is your resource for insurance and coverage education, training and loss control.
